Update

I haven't been making as much jewellery as I would of liked to recently. I have found it difficult to push myself to do it. I think since leaving uni, and having a goal like the degree show to work towards really put the pressure on, and i generally work well under pressure. Leaving uni I felt a bit lost and demotivated, a bit of an anti climax really, and I didn't really know which goals to work towards. :( I have figured out now what I'm doing with myself and am steadily getting back into the swing of things! I have a comission that im working on, so i just need to go for it!

I have a suspicious feeling that the same is gonna be true of me.... oh dear! I know what you mean though, the pressure keeps me motivated too. How are you getting on with setting up your wee workyshop? x

Everyone suffers a dip when they leave Uni and enter the "real" world.
Why don't you (and the other students) join the HCJ forums, where you can keep each other motivated.
Also join the project as friends, you can comment, network and promote yourself through your "friend profile".

Remember to get back to the bench now and again though!

Hi Donna...I am a fellow Jewelry Designer specializing in beading and gallery wrap working with recycled metals from the 60's and 70's. Where are you located? Are you on FaceBook? I am...I read where you commented on how you have to push yourself to keep designing and that you will open up a studio soon. I want to do the same. I am interested in opening up a boutique/studio in Naples and in Los Angeles where I have begun to make some contacts. Maybe we can chat sometime. Kitty Crawl, kitty@kittycrawl.com (email me and we can exchange phone #'s if you like) Happy Holidays!
